This study reports findings of a trial using the Blast Gauge System by the Australian Defence Force (ADF) with troops deployed in Afghanistan from September 2012 to December 2013. The study proved the ability to “capture blast dose data in the field and the capability of the devices to assist in the prioritization of medical assessment for personnel at risk for mTBI.”
Recommendations include the continued use of the Blast Gauge System on deployed troops, as well as exploring use in training.
